Developing Marine Tourism in Da Nang: Research and Proposed Strategies

Abstract

The city of Da Nang is a major economic, cultural, educational, scientific, and technological center in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. Furthermore, Da Nang boasts a beach renowned as one of the most beautiful on the planet, serving as an ideal destination that attracts numerous domestic and international tourists. With the natural advantages and continuous efforts of the local residents, the development of beach tourism has been promoted, becoming a spearhead in the economic development and investment orientation. In the current global economic stage, marked by recession, soaring inflation, and a trend of tightening expenditures worldwide, coupled with disease outbreaks, climate change, unusual weather patterns, armed conflicts in various regions, and Vietnam's more restrictive visa policies compared to neighboring countries, researching solutions for the development of Da Nang's beach tourism becomes crucial. This endeavor aims to bring multiple benefits to the city and establish a solid position in both domestic and international markets. Moreover, the research focuses on measures to ensure that tourism development brings advantages to the local community. This includes generating employment opportunities, fostering the development of local culture, and supporting local businesses. The proposal encompasses effective promotional and marketing strategies to attract tourists to Da Nang, especially in the realm of beach tourism.
